At least one person was killed in a
West #Virginia coal mine early Tuesday after a falling roof trapped two
miners underground, according to family and first responders.
The family of miner Eric Legg said he was killed in the accident at the Brody #Mine in Boone County, according to NBC affiliate WSAZ. State inspectors were at the scene, but no further details were available.
West Virginia Metronews reported that rescue personnel were on the scene after the roof fell at about 10 p.m. Monday.
The local sheriff’s office directed inquiries to the West Virginia Mine Safety & Health office.
